Tomorrow has a unique spot on the calendar. 11/11/11 will not come around for another 100 years. The number one supposedly signifies a beginning, while multiple numbers of one signify a doorway. As I think about Veteran’s Day and what it means, this idea intrigues me. We don’t associate military service as a beginning. For many families, the death of a loved one feels like an ending. However, I believe their is significance here.
Tomorrow, I will honor our Veteran’s, who sacrificed everything, so that each day is a new beginning of freedom and a doorway to freedom for the future.
Don’t forget about those who serve. It’s not about politics…it’s not about the Left or the Right…it’s about appreciation for those who gave their all, despite everything, to fight.
